Fayetteville Mom named Advisor of the Year!

Benita Angel Gwynn-Powell of the Fayetteville chapter has been recognized by the National HBCU Pre-Law Summit as Advisor of the Year. She currently serves as the Assistant Legal Counsel and Pre-law Advisor at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC.
In addition to her roles at Fayetteville State University, Powell currently serves as president-elect of the Southern Association of Pre-Law Advisors (SAPLA). SAPLA is an organization that brings together pre-law advisors and law school admissions staff in an effort to provide everyone in the law school admissions process with up-to-date information and expert guidance. She will begin her two-year term as President in October 2019.
Powell is a native of Reidsville, N.C.. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Duke University; and a Juris Doctorate from Washington University School of Law; and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Powell spends her free time with her daughter, Savannah, who is a high school early college student.
